Kibworth Harcourt is situated in South Leicestershire, England. The village is situated mid-way between the city of Leicester and the town of Market Harborough. Kibworth Harcourt Parish Council was established in 1895. The number of members is based on the number of people on the Electoral Roll, which stands at present at 812. Currently there are six Council members supported by the services of a salaried Clerk. Council generally meets at 7:30 pm on the first Tuesday of each month in St Wilfrid's Church Hall. The June meeting usually takes the form of a walkabout around the village. Additional meetings are called on occasion if the need arises. Dates and agenda are posted on the notice board at Jubilee Green, and elsewhere on this website. Meeting minutes are available for inspection in Kibworth Library, and also appear on the site. Members of the public are welcome to attend the Parish Council meetings, and indeed Council wish to encourage public participation in local affairs. Provision is made for members of the public to speak on matters which appear on the agenda. The Parish Council has representatives on the Kibworth Joint Recreation Committee and the Joint Burial Committee, and also has representation on Kibworth Village Hall Committee and LANRAC (Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Railway Action Committee). Council activities are funded by precept on Harborough District Council and accounts are subject to annual inspection by independent auditors. |
