Leicestershire Parish Councils

I have lived in Kibworth, Harcourt and Beauchamp, for 29 years and have been a parish councillor since 1978. Over this time I have served on all the joint committees and represented the council as a Governor of the Primary School. Currently I serve on the Joint Recreation Committee and I am the Deputy Parish member on the Harborough District Standards committee.

As a past assistant Guide and venture Scout leader and having been professionally involved in the care of older people both locally in Kibworth and in Leicestershire and Rutland, I am concerned that the Parish Council addresses the needs of all parishioners recognising that many services and facilities are now only available outside the parish in neighbouring villages.

Many changes have taken place during my time as a parish councillor, some welcome, some less so. In particular the retention of the Warwick Road recreation area, leased jointly with Kibworth Beauchamp and the acquisition of the Albert Street play area has preserved two important green, open spaces for the enjoyment of parishioners.

My aim as a parish councillor is to endeavour to maintain Kibworth Harcourt as an attractive,safe, vibrant community.
